ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The MathMovesYou Program is a math skills enhancement presentation, designed to educate and motivate students of all ages to embrace mathematics as a practical and useful tool. This program integrates the mathematical challenges of the commercial pilot and the air traffic controller within the aviation industry.
Through scenario based education a variety of different situations are presented to the students. They include descent planning, fuel planning, airport traffic pattern entry procedures, and accident prevention. Each scenario is unique and presents a new set of circumstances. Students are continuously prompted to compute in their minds the answer to each question.
All scenarios and questions are presented on power point, and complemented with a white dry erase board for an overhead or profile view of the individual scenario.
Props and large pictures are also integrated to create a very interesting and dynamic multi audiovisual program. This program is 60 minutes in length and is appropriate for student ages 11 through 22. We are targeting 100 schools and 100,000 students in 96 weeks.
